Christina Borbely – Ph.D. Columbia University
Christina has extensive interaction with a variety of program providers serving youth and families. She is the former Director of Research & Planning at the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Placer County, a research & technical assistance consultant at the Center for Applied Research Solutions (CARS), and a program evaluator at Evaluation, Management, & Training Inc (EMT). Christina provides support to grassroots and national level organizations, assists teams in rural and urban areas, and facilitates effective and strategic programming and evaluation at a range of operational levels. Specifically, Christina has extensive knowledge and experience in strategic planning, logic model design, program evaluation, and implementation developmentally relevant and culturally competent prevention, youth development and mentoring programs. In addition to providing direct training and support to program providers and administrators, Christina works extensively in developing and disseminating curriculum, research and evaluation reports, and other customized products.
Previously, Christina was a member of the research staff at Columbia University’s National Center for Children and Families. Her work in the field of youth development and prevention programs has been presented at national conferences and published in academic journals. She is also a volunteer providing mentoring and developmental support to youth in underserved populations. Christina received her doctoral degree in developmental psychology, with a focus on children and adolescents, from Columbia University (2004).
Christy Kalb – Attorney at Law
Christy Kalb practices family law at the Stockdale Law Firm in El Dorado Hills, CA. On top of her law practices, Christy has been involved with many community projects, such as Operation Project Defend where she led high school discussions regarding issues related to the U.S. Constitution and government. Her passion lies in promoting healthy environments for children and the legal aspects involved with these issues.
Robert Edling – Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Robert Edling is a CA licensed psychologist with over thirty years practice experience. He has extensive training and experience in child and family development, family and individual therapy.
Before beginning his doctoral program in clinical psychology, Dr. Edling was an inner-city social worker in Boston, MA. for ten years. He was a therapist in a community mental health center and an expert witness appointed by Boston Juvenile Court in child abuse and neglect matters.
After finishing his doctoral training with internships at Boston City Hospital Department of Child Psychology and Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital, Dr. Edling completed a post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at North Shore Children’s Hospital and stayed on staff there for several years evaluating children with neurologically based learning problems. In 1990, he joined a psychiatric private group practice in Sacramento and has continued as a private practitioner to date.
